Mailing lists are used by individuals and groups to discuss common interests. A form of academic discussion forum is provided by academic listserv and mailing lists. Most lists are free to join on application to the list moderator(s) and usually, you can opt to receive all postings in real time or a “digest” form of mailings once per day.

JISCMail hosts thousands of lists for the UK Education and Research communities. You can participate via email or web browser, and some lists are available for RSS feeds. You can join and leave lists at any time and can also browse and search list archives to identify relevant content.
