Lifelong Learning: Resource not available?

When a resource is not available from the Library

You will find that there will be times when the resource you need to consult is not available from the library's collections. In this scenario there are a number of options available to you to try and get hold of the materials you need:

  • Digitisation service
  • Document Supply service
  • More Books

Digitisation

As staff and students at Aberystwyth University, you can request a scanned copy of a journal article, book chapter, or thesis extract from our print collections, as long as the request complies with copyright regulations.

Find out more and complete the online digitisation request forms here: https://www.aber.ac.uk/en/is/library-services/digitisation/

Document Supply

The Document Supply Service allows registered users to request items which are not available in the University Libraries. We can support you by locating and supplying books, chapters, and articles held by other libraries.

More information on Document Supply.

More Books

If you can’t find a book you’re looking for in the library, you can place a request for it via the More Books campaign (Students only).

Each book ordered through the campaign will be placed in the library collection.
