Censorship examines different types of media and restricts any parts that are deemed as unacceptable.

Censorship can suppress of any parts of books, films, news, speech, public communication or other type of information that are considered obscene, offensive, politically unacceptable, harmful, sensitive or can threaten national security.  

In other words, censorship aims to block something from being read, heard, or seen.

Censorship can be conducted by governments, private institutions, authorities and other types of controlling bodies.
