Aspire Reading Lists is the sole method by which teaching staff can request books and other learning materials for taught modules.

Once published an Aspire Reading List is visible to current students from the module menu in Blackboard and to prospective students in the AU Modules pages.

These pages are designed to help staff make the most of Aspire Reading Lists.  For advice, support and training, contact your subject librarian or email You are also very welcome to book a one-to-one over MS Teams

Digitisation requests made easy

The Library offers a service to digitise resources included in reading lists. Aspire Reading Lists makes the service easy to use.

Please see the Digitisation and Copyright Guide for more information or contact for help

Deadlines and policies

Reading Lists in Aspire can be updated throughout the year, however all lists must be revised and published by the following deadlines:

  • Semester 1 modules - 31st July
  • Modules taught over both semesters - 31st July
  • Semester 2 modules - 30th November
  • Distance learner modules - 30th June

This allows Library staff sufficient time to purchase or digitise resources for the start of each semester.
