Life Sciences and IBERS: Where can I find journals and articles for my course in the library?

Take a look at the floor map and library guide to help you navigate the Hugh Owen Library and locate your books and other resources on the shelves.

  • Browse the map online at libraryfloormap.aber.ac.uk to find out what’s where, get more information about library resources and spaces and familiarise yourself with the layout – never get lost again!
  • There are also floor map kiosks on each floor of the library.

The Library Floor Map is integrated with Primo, the library catalogue. When you’re viewing your item in Primo, click the Library Floormap link to open the map and the shelves where your item is located will be highlighted.

Physical/print journals

You will find journals on your course:

  • as physical copies in the Hugh Owen Library and 
  • online as e-journals

You will find articles on your course:

  • as physical copies within the print journal in the Hugh Owen Library and 
  • online as full-text articles

Physical/print journals for Life Sciences will be located on Level E, Hugh Owen Library.

How to find journals and e-journals in Primo

You will also find many journals available in print and online as e-journals. You can access these via Primo. 

To find journals and e-journals in Primo:

  • Keep the search as the default LIBRARIES search 
  • Enter a few keywords or type the journal title

How to find e-articles

You will also find many articles available online as e-articles. You can access these via Primo. 

To find articles in Primo:

  • next to the main search box on the Primo homepage, change the search in the drop down menu to ARTICLES
  • Enter a few keywords or type the article title
