The Hugh Owen Library is the main University Library and the centre of administration for Information Services. Based on Penglais campus [map], it provides a space to study, whether you wish to study quietly on your own or with others. A range of facilities are provided both to help you with your studies and for quiet relaxation.
A module reading list is usually a list of books and other information resources compiled by the module co-ordinator to support your study of a module.
You can find the reading list for a module you are studying in Blackboard.
Log in, visit the module and click the Aspire Reading List link in the left menu
You can see your list in the Aspire system where there are additional features:
Click on the title of the Aspire list in Blackboard OR visit Aspire and search for the module code

Primo is the Aberystwyth University library catalogue. In Primo you can search for books, articles, theses and other materials in the library collection of printed and electronic resources. To get the best results from Primo, you will need to sign in.

To find out if a specific book is available in the Library, visit Primo and sign in. In the search box enter one or two key words from the title and the surname of the author. When the search results appear you can choose to click Books in the Tweak my results menu on the left to display results for books only or filter to match your own criteria.
Available
If the book is available to borrow, Primo will state this information giving the floor location and classmark details.
On loan
If the book is not available to borrow and on loan to another user, Primo will state this information.
You can recall a book that is on loan. Instructions on how to do this is available here.
Online access
If the item is available in electronic format, Primo will state this.
All University staff and students can borrow up to 40 books at any one time.
You can borrow most books for one week and these will be automatically renewed for you each week until someone else needs the book and requests it, or after 6 months.
You will only be fined if you do not bring the book back when it is recalled by another user, or if you do not return the book to the library after 6 months.

The library will be staffed during term-time between 2pm-5pm, Monday to Thursday and 2pm-4.30pm on Friday.
The library is unstaffed outside of these times but access remains to the library books and journals, library spaces, computers and the printer/photocopier/scanner dependent on Physical Science building opening/closing hours.
