COVID-19: Library update

COVID-19 Library Update

Since closing the Library buildings in March 2020, we’ve continued to provide online access to resources and virtual support from the IS Service Desk and your subject librarians. Latest updates on Library and IT services can be found at this web page:

The libraries are currently closed except for pre-arranged click and collect.

How can I access library resources? 

What will happen to my library loans now the Library is closed?

Where can I drop off my Aberystwyth University library books while the library is closed? 


  • You will not be asked to return your loans even if they have reached their maximum borrowing period.

  • A reminder not to worry about items on loan as any fines will be waived. You can check your library account from Primo or via App Aber.

  • You will be unable to request a book that is on loan to someone else. 


The 24/7 learning centres and computer rooms are now closed until further notice. 


Click and Collect Service

The Click and Collect service operates daily between 13:00-17:00 on Level D, Hugh Owen Library. 

Information on our Click and Collect service, and other limited services, is at Please read this page carefully before using the service. We can only provide this service if our users abide by our new guidelines outlined.

Our extensive collections of electronic journals, databases and e-books remain available to you 24/7 on and off-campus.

Before you start any searching off-campus:
sign in to Primo

You know you have signed in successfully if your name displays at the top right hand of your screen.

You are now authenticated to access AU subscribed electronic resources. If you close your browser, you will need to sign into Primo again to re-authenticate.
